Our Story
Established in 2000 by Kenth and Susanne Nyblad, Nyblad Construction originated a year after the Nyblad family relocated from Sweden to the Sunshine Coast in 1999. Kenth’s commitment to quality workmanship and a can-do attitude quickly earned him a stellar reputation as a dependable bathroom and kitchen renovator in Caloundra.
In 2017, their youngest daughter, Linn Batey, joined the family business. Linn’s background in insurance repairs and new home builds added a wealth of building and construction experience to the business and Nyblad Construction was formed. In 2018, Kenth and Susanne’s eldest daughter, Sanna Davis, also joined the family business, further elevating the business with her marketing and communications experience. From a modest team of four and a few subcontractors, Nyblad Construction has flourished into a dynamic company with over 10 permanent employees, including dedicated Project Manager Troy Adsett and seasoned Estimator Ben Arnold.
The company’s achievements include being finalists in the 2023 Sunshine Coast Business Awards and Linn Batey receiving the Women in Building Award at the 2023 Sunshine Coast Master Builders Housing & Construction Awards. Notably, she also secured both the Outstanding Woman in Trade and Exceptional Small Business Manager Award at the Awesome Women in Construction (AWIC) Annual Awards in 2023, recognising her outstanding contributions in a predominantly male-dominated industry. All contractors and builders need to be QBCC licenced. QBCC has very strict rules of what works can be completed by who.
